I am an educator of nearly 30 years. But more importantly I am a learner. The day a teacher stops loving learning and working with young people is the day they should leave the classroom.
I have had the further privilege in recent years of contributing to the senior leadership team of our college. While this has reduced my time in the classroom, I love being able to contribute to the big picture – the culture, vision, future direction, innovations, leadership development of our school. And I am in a role that works with students at risk of falling through the cracks. It is very satisfying to see students find success in all sorts of challenging circumstances.
I love my job. It’s a vocation, not a pay packet.
